Matthew Hobson, (Star Letters, September 28), is so right. I myself would go further. I believe that one can rightly assume that immigrants have been very badly failed from whence they came.
If immigrants haven’t been failed economically, politically, culturally or indeed a mixture of all three, then why on earth would they want to leave their homelands?
This in turn begs the question: why would you wish to cling to a culture that clearly failed you rather than fully and wholeheartedly embrace and adopt the culture that saved you?
