A PASSIONATE fundraiser proved her commitment to the cause when she ‘beared’ her foot to get a permanent reminder of her favourite charity.
Elsa Roberts, from Intake, decided to take the plunge and have a tattoo of Theo the Bear – the mascot for Sheffield Children’s Hospital – inked on the sole of her foot.
She collected sponsorship in return for going under the needle at the Diamond Ink parlour at Crystal Peaks – where tattoo artist Faye Crawford gave her time for free – and raised £253.
Elsa, aged 19, said: “It was a fun and fresh idea and I’ve never seen anyone else have something like this done before on behalf of the hospital, and of course it draws attention to the cause.”
The cash raised will go to the theatres department who want an integrate intra-operative surgical navigation system.
