More than 160 candidates are standing in the local elections in Sheffield this May, it has been confirmed.
The full list of hopefuls for 28 wards across the city was confirmed by Sheffield Council last night.
There are 167 candidates in total after a ‘late influx’ shortly before the deadline of 4pm yesterday, which delayed the publication of the nominations.
Former Liberal Democrat Sheffield leader Shaffaq Mohammed is standing for Ecclesall after he lost in Crookes last year.
The current deputy council leader for Labour, Leigh Bramall, is also up for re-election to the seat of Southey.
This year the Green party is standing candidates in every council ward, as is the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition.
Ukip is standing in every ward apart from Graves Park.
