Two Sheffield sports stars of the future have been given a helping hand by a building society.
Sheffield City Athletics Club triple jumper Nikita Campbell-Smith, aged 17, who is trained by Jessica Ennis’s coach Toni Minichiello, and diver Jordan Holden, 15, have both received grants.
Nikita was invited to The Nottingham’s branch in Barker’s Pool to receive a £650 cheque from branch manager Tricia Cater.
It will help in the teenager’s bid to compete at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Nikita was the top ranked under-17 Triple Jumper in the UK last year, having won Gold in the England Athletics Championships, UK School Games and English Schools Championships.
Jordan received £650 from The Nottingham’s Firth Park branch and will be presented with his donation tomorrow.
It took Jordan just a year from being a beginner to joining the Junior Elite training programme.
