YOUNG linguists showed off their skills at an event to find Sheffield’s language presenter of the year.
The contest at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria featured talented 15 and 16-year-olds making presentations about a product they had invented.
They had to deliver the speech in French, German or Spanish to judges including Yorkshire and Humber MEP Linda McAvan.
Sheffield Council’s International Business Communication team organised the event, to increase teenagers’ language skills.
Founder Katherine Smith said the youngsters ‘showed off some excellent skills’.
