A SHEFFIELD school was forced to send all its pupils home yesterday following a failure of its water supply.
Sheffield Park Academy on Beaumont Close, Manor, had to close its doors for the rest of the day after problems emerged during the morning.
Principal Maria Nightingale and her team worked closely with Yorkshire Water and Sheffield Council to identify and rectify the cause of the problem.
The aim was to make sure the academy could open as normal today.
Mrs Nightingale said: “For the obvious health and safety reasons, we had no choice but to close the academy and are now working to restore the school’s water supply as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
Parents and community groups have been informed.
