LABOUR leader Ed Miliband gave his backing for a new workplace education centre set up by a union in Doncaster.

Mr Miliband officially opened the learning centre which is operated by the shop workers and distribution workers union, USDAW.

It is within the giant Asda distribution centre at the Redhouse industrial estate near Adwick.

It is in Mr Miliband’s constituency of Doncaster North.

During his visit to the complex, he tried out some of the learning resources which have been set up in the centre and met with staff at the centre who will be using the facility.

Warehouse staff and union representatives Phil Jones and Richard Taylor showed him round the learning centre during his visit.

The giant Asda distribution centre, located near the A1(M) motorway in the borough is one of the largest warehouse sites in Doncaster.
