Sheffield University has been named as one of the UK’s top enterprise educators.
The University was awarded the Enterprise Champions accolade for its Graduate Entrepreneurship Project, which brings together higher education institutions in Yorkshire and Humber to support student and graduate entrepreneurship, with the aim of benefitting the region’s economy.
The University’s Sheffield Students In Free Enterprise organisation was highly commended in the Student Educator category at the National Enterprise Educator Awards.
The Students In Free Enterprise organisation is part of an international organisation in over 1,500 universities and 50 countries across the world.
It aims to harness students´ entrepreneurial and volunteering spirits in social and commercial projects that benefit the community in Sheffield and other countries.
Enterprise Business Manager Sara Pates said: “We are delighted to get this award as the Yorkshire Graduate Entrepreneurship project is unique in the UK.
“We are also delighted that SIFE were highly commended in their category as they are a flagship for student led enterprise at the University.”
