THOUSANDS of pounds are being plunged into a Sheffield University study into ME.

National charity Action for ME has awarded £24,832 for a pilot project to be conducted by the city university’s Professor Annalena Venneri.

Prof Venneri will aim to uncover the biological correlates of cognitive impairment associated with fatigue in ME, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome.

Sheffield is one of three universities to be awarded cash to coincide with international ME Awareness Week.
