Sheffield University’s support for its gay, lesbian and bisexual staff has been recognised in new national rankings.
It has been placed 82nd, up 24 places, in 400 organisations listed by the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.
The league table benchmarks organisations according to their support provisions for gay staff.
The university was highlighted as a fully inclusive community to work, with staff and students endorsing the institution as a supportive working environment.
Human resources director Andrew Dodman said: “I am delighted that The University of Sheffield has been named as a Top 100 employer by Stonewall. Our vision is to create a remarkable place to work, and equality is a key aspect of this.”
