Top global award for university health expert

A Sheffield University lecturer has been given an international award for excellence for his work to improve health research in developing countries.

Dr Padam Simkhada was given the CEA Award of Global Health Research at a special ceremony at the Mahatma Gandi University in India.

He specialises in issues such as reproductive and sexual health, migration and sex trafficking, maternal and child health and health promotion in middle and low income countries.

“I feel greatly honoured with this award,” he said.
