A Rotherham primary school will be honoured next week for its commitment to encouraging more pupils to cycle to classes.
St Ann’s Primary close to the town centre will celebrate Bike to School Week by receiving a Sustrans Bronze School Mark Award.
Sustrans schools officer Natalie Whelan will present the award to congratulate children, parents and teachers for their efforts to boost cycling and their commitment to promoting active and sustainable travel.
The charity works with 17 schools in the area in partnership with Rotherham Council to help children overcome barriers preventing them cycling to school.
Headteacher Lee Rowan said: “To celebrate this achievement in the year of the Yorkshire Grand Depart is perfect.”
