A SOUTH Yorkshire college has set up a new alumni scheme to help former students to keep in touch.

The initiative at Dearne Valley College based at Wath-on-Dearne will keep its members up to date and in touch with college life and allow them to take advantage of special benefits.

Members will also qualify for discounted gym memberships at a student rate for use at college sports facilities.

Newsletters will also be sent to keep members in touch with what’s happening at the college.

Cost of membership is free although £20 per year will be charged for the use of the Manvers Learning Centre.

A card will be issued to prove membership of the scheme.

The centre will provide them with a quiet place to work and study and students who sign up for the scheme will be able to access text books, a PC and the internet.
