THEY’RE the Doncaster astronomers who are among the brightest stars in the accountants’ galaxy!

Mexborough and Swinton Astronomical Society is celebrating after coming runner-up in a national competition which recognises best practice in the online publication of charities’ annual reports and accounts.

The results were announced at the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales annual Charity Awards evening.

The society, which carries out educational work in South Yorkshire, was selected as runner-up among charities with an income below £250,000. The Society carried off a certificate and prize money of £1,500.
