Pupils at a Sheffield school welcomed Sheffield United skipper Michael Doyle and mascot Captain Blade to learn about healthy living.

Pupils at Gleadless Primary School were able to question Michael and find out about the +Sport Move and Learn project, a school-based educational programme for children aged nine to 10.

The programme is being delivered through Sheffield United Community Foundatio, in partnership with the Football League Trust.

Michael said: “It was great to visit the school and see how this programme is encouraging young children to be involved in healthy activities.

“As the health ambassador for the foundation I share their passion for encouraging healthy lifestyles.”

Gleadless Primary, on Hollinsend Road, is one of 30 schools the foundation is delivering the programme to – engaging 1,800 children in 16,200 hours of activity and education.
