Sheffield students challenge Government immigration policies

Have your say

Sheffield University students have launched a campaign to challenge Government immigration policies in the run up to the General Election next year.

The Student Union is backing the No Borders campaign which is seeking to change policies which they say could limit the number of overseas students studying in the UK.

Students are in particular lobbying for the removal of international student numbers from official net migration figures through an e-petition.

Organiser Jose Diaz De Aguilar Puiggari said: “No Borders aims to put an end to policies that are damaging international student recruitment and relations and make the UK a more welcoming place. International students are just an easy target for this Government.”
