A Sheffield student has scooped a national award recognising his outstanding commitment to learning, Futsal and helping a disability team.

Brad Fox, aged 17, who studies on the Sheffield Wednesday FC Education Programme’s BTEC Level Three Diploma in Sports, won the ‘Student of the Year’ title at the Football League Trust Education and Futsal awards.

The second year student gives up his time as a volunteer helping with the Sheffield Wednesday Ability Counts disability team, which he introduced to futsal.

He has done this at the same time as studying for his BTEC qualification, working towards his FA Level One coaching award and holding down a part time job.

Rachael Jenkins, an Education Programme tutor, said: “Brad shows very good leadership qualities.”
