Two Sheffield primaries are set to begin consultations with parents and the community on moves to gain greater independence.
Charnock Hall at Gleadless and Rainbow Forge at Hackenthorpe are planning to become foundation schools, joining the Birley Co-operative Learning Trust.
Three meetings at Charnock Hall take place on Monday, with two more to follow at Rainbow Forge on October 14 - part of a process that will last four weeks.
The schools will remain a part of the local authority system but will be supported by the Trust, which will hold its land and assets.
A key aim is to share good practice among the Trust’s schools.
