Sixth-form pupils teamed up with scientists in their school laboratories to research heart disease.

Pupils at Tapton School worked with The University of Sheffield’s Department of Medical Science on the project, funded by The Wellcome Trust.

They presented results to a London conference before leading science educator Sir John Holman visited last week.

Teacher Alan Bradbury said: “I have been amazed at the potential unlocked in students.”
