Staff and children at a pre-school in Sheffield are celebrating after receiving the perfect inspection report.
Greenhill Village Pre-School, on Greenhill Main Road, Greenhill, has been rated as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted inspectors – after being judged as good six years ago.
Government inspectors found youngsters were ‘motivated and excited’ by the wide range and fun activities on offer at the nursery.
They praised the management team and committee for driving forward changes that will benefit the children who attend and as a result high standards are maintained.
Inspector Jane Tucker wrote: “Children demonstrate the characteristics of effective learning, such as engagement and critical thinking because the quality of teaching is outstanding.
Gill Bilby, the school manager, was delighted with the inspection report.
She said: “This is a fantastic achievement and recognises all the hard work, expertise and commitment of the staff team, many of whom have worked here for more than 15 years.
“As a registered charity we have been supported over the years by many dedicated committee members who serve on a voluntary basis.
“Greenhill Village Pre-school is very much a community provider with ‘the family’ at the forefront of its ethos.”
Inspectors said the pre-school could further improve by providing larger play equipment for children outdoors to promote their physical development even further.
