Children at a Sheffield nursery are enjoying challenging and imaginative learning sessions which help them make good progress, an inspection visit found.
Southey Green Primary’s off site nursery on Lindsay Road was rated good with all the youngsters well protected and looked after by well trained staff.
Teaching was good and the environment was stimulating and well resourced, with the welfare of pupils with special needs or disabilities very well met.
Those who spoke English as a second language were also well catered for because staff had developed effective relationships with parents and other professionals.
Children had continuity in their care and learning thanks to caring and sensitive staff providing a nurturing environment, which gave the youngsters a strong sense of belonging.
Inspectors found the nursery’s leadership and management were both good, and looked regularly at how to improve things.
As a result the children’s learning experiences continually improved - although it was felt that outside activities could be improved.
