Sheffield Hallam University and the charity Addaction have secured funding for a project to support ex-service men and women with drug and alcohol problems.

The Forces in Mind Trust has awarded a grant of £177,949 for the Right Turn project, which is run by Addaction, to be extended.

It will also be evaluated by the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice at Sheffield Hallam University.

Professor David Best, who will lead the evaluation at Sheffield Hallam University, said: “This project offers a unique partnership between Addaction and Sheffield Hallam that will assess the power of peers in catalysing and sustaining recovery and in the resulting growth of well-being in communities and families.”
