TELEVISION’S favourite birdman Bill Oddie will be sharing memories and stories from over 15 years of some of the most popular natural history series ever made when he makes a guest appearance at The University of Sheffield Students’ Union FLASH! series of talks.

Bill’s talk on the evening of Monday, April 29, marks the launch event for Spring Into Nature Week, highlighting ways to promote the university’s biodiversity, including a garden design competition and events on birds, bees, butterflies, local campaigns and did-you-know facts.

Famous for BBC Springwatch programme, which at its peak had five million weekly viewers, Bill became a household name in the 1970s as a member of comedy trio The Goodies, alongside Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden.

A birdwatcher since his childhood, Bill has now established a reputation as an ornithologist, conservationist and television presenter on wildlife issues.

He has also released many books, with many illustrated with his own paintings and drawings.

Tickets for the evening are available now at £8, or £4 for students, from The University of Sheffield Students’ Union Box Office on 0114 222 8777. For further information visit or
