Sheffield Teaching Hospitals’ chief nurse proved to be an inspirational speaker for more than 50 health and social care students at Barnsley College.
The talk by Prof Hilary Chapman was arranged as part of the college’s Inspiring Future Professionals project, which invites experts to share their firsthand experiences with students going down similar paths.
Prof Chapman talked through the academic qualifications needed to work in nursing, career opportunities and an insight into her daily working life.
She said: “I enjoyed coming into Barnsley College and talking to the students as I live in Barnsley.
“It’s about giving the students the best opportunities and getting the highest standard of nurses for the future.”
