PARENTS’ evenings at a Sheffield secondary school are being revamped to give mums and dads better feedback on their youngsters’ progress.
The new system at Westfield Sports College, Sothall, begins on Wednesday, November 28, with the afternoon set aside for parents to meet their child’s academic mentor.
Fifteen-minute slots will be available for mums and dads to discuss pupils’ progress and targets.
If specific subject-based issues arise, appointments will be made with the teacher concerned for the following week, on Tuesday, December 4.
The process, titled Partnership for Progress, will be repeated during the summer term, giving parents another chance to review their youngsters’ schooling in detail.
There will also be a further subject-based evening in March for parents of students in the middle of GCSE studies in Years 10 and 11.
