PARENTS and pupils at a Rotherham primary school enjoyed a taste of Spain as part of a project to bring communities together.
A group of mums, dads and youngsters have been working together at Monkwood Primary on the Rawmarsh, Valencia and Me initiative to explore the similarities and differences between the two communities.
The parent and student ambassadors recently went to Spain on an educational visit and put on an evening of activities on their return.
They hosted a range of fun, practical and innovative learning activities for over 100 guests, designed to share what they had experienced .
Becky Mollart, who has been working on the project, said: “I’m so proud of what the group have achieved. From starting this project as a team who barely knew each other, relationships have grown into lifelong friendships. The skills which the students and parents equally have developed are outstanding and will stay them for a long time.”
