PUPILs at Sprotbrough Orchard Primary School have been raking in a shed load of gardening gear thanks to the Morrison’s ‘Let’s Grow’ programme.
The school received a visit from Doncaster North Ed Miliband when he presented pupils with some new tools so they could cultivate their raised beds.
The school is just one of more than 22,500 primary and secondary schools that has registered to start growing their greens in the last two years.
Schools have collected millions of Let’s Grow vouchers to redeem hundreds of thousands of pieces of gardening equipment ranging from watering cans to wormeries and wellies to weather stations.
Mr Miliband said: “It is great to see schools benefiting from the ‘Lets Grow’ campaign.
“It is fantastic the children are looking forward to using this brilliant equipment which will teach them how food is produced and learn about healthy eating.”
