A Rotherham teenager is off to the House of Lords next month after reeling in an award from a charity working to introduce angling in schools.

Thomas Moule, aged 17, a pupil at Newman School in Whiston, is one of 20 young people from around the country to be recognised by Fishing 4 Schools.

His deputy head Katherine Ryan-Murray nominated Thomas for his skills and enthusiasm during his first day of fishing.

She said: “Thomas approached the day with enthusiasm, listening and observing and doing his best throughout, catching a number of fish.”
