A Rotherham secondary will be spurred on to greater achievements by an inspection report which rated the school as good in all categories, its headteacher says.
Saint Pius X RC High in Wath-upon-Dearne had been found to require improvement on its previous check up two years ago.
But it was found headteacher Tony Bishop and his senior staff had worked hard and successfully to improve the quality of teaching and the curriculum.
Achievement was now good in a wide range of subjects and standards in maths had risen since 2012 as a result of positive actions taken.
Many students were making good progress right through the school and the proportion who were doing better than expected was rising thanks to better teaching.
The pupils’ behaviour was typically good while attendance levels were broadly average and improving.
Students were keen to do well and had good relationships with their teachers.
Mr Bishop said: “Saint Pius is a really good place to be and the outcome of the inspection confirms this. Students and staff have worked really hard and the report will spur us on to even better things.”
