Rotherham schoolchildren swapped their classrooms for a retail park to take part in a reading activity.

The event at Parkgate, which was part of the National Literacy Trust’s Young Readers Programme, involved youngsters from St Ann’s Junior and Infant School, Thrybergh Primary School and Canklow Woods Primary.

It was hosted by Yorkshire author and storyteller, Gez Walsh.

Rotherham Mayor, Councillor Maggi Clark, also attended.
