Prince William and Kate have given pupils at a Doncaster primary school the Royal seal of approval by sending each child a personalised letter.

Year One pupils at Bentley High Street Primary school were thrilled to receive the royal delivery in response to their letters to Prince George.

The children penned the letters to the baby Prince as part of a history project in which they have been learning about the Royal family.

Speaking about the letters teacher Madeleine Grantham said: “We sent the letters as part of our history project.

“I couldn’t believe it when myself and every child received a reply .

“It was a lovely surprise for the children who were presented with the letters in a special assembly, they were extremely excited ”

“One of the pupils is now planning a trip to London to see Buckingham Palace, i think I’ve got a calss full of Royalists after this.”

The letters, which were signed by a member of the couple’s staff, also included a photograph of Prince George with his proud parents.

Some of the questions asked by pupils were answered in the Royal response including the name of the family’s cocker spaniel Lupo and the date of birth of the prince July 22 2013.

One of the letters read “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked me to thank you for the lovely letter you recently sent to their son prince George.

“Their Royal Highnesses were immensely touched that you should take the trouble to write as you did. It really was most thoughtful of you.”
