Pyjama run to help trio of charities

Have your say

THERE is an idea that students lounge around all day in their pyjamas – and sometimes it’s absolutely true!

Now students living in University of Sheffield accommodation really will be staying in their PJs all day long for a charity event on Sunday April 3.

Far from feeling lazy, though, the Students Communities Charity Pyjama Fun Run will see students complete a one-mile run around the university’s Endcliffe Village site.

They will raise cash for three charities – Asperger’s Children and Carers Together, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and CLIC Sargent, which helps youngsters with cancer and their families.

The event is organised by the Student Communities Committee, working with partners at USport and Sheffield RAG.

Community development coordinator Lauren Simpson said: “All participants will be donating £2 on the day to take part.

“You could say it’s the perfect way for students to spend a Sunday – supporting three great charities without even having to bother getting dressed!”

The Communities project was set up four years ago to build community spirit in the university residences.
