Doncaster’s drinking water gets put to the test later this month when youngsters at Hill House School join the world’s biggest science experiment.

Millions of young scientists in schools around the globe are performing the same basic tests to measure how clean and drinkable their local water is, and submitting their data to a central website.

At Hill House in Auckley, Year 9 pupils will be working out the quality of local tap water, and checking its acidity with science teacher Caroline Rogerson, who is organising the experimental day as part of the International Year of Chemistry.
