Pupils from a Barnsley secondary school planted over 450 trees to create a new area of woodland with the help of community rangers.

Young people from the Netherwood Advanced Learning Centre teamed up with rangers from the Dearne Valley Green Heart Partnership.

Work on the woods is being carried out in the Dearne Valley Nature Improvement Area, with the trees provided by South Yorkshire Forest.
