A SHEFFIELD primary school is celebrating after exam results revealed six straight years of steady progress.

Porter Croft CE Primary School, off Ecclesall Road, near the city centre, was facing substantial challenges in 2006 and was causing concern to Sheffield Council.

But in last summer’s tests, 85 per cent of pupils made the grade in English and maths and every child made expected progress in the same subjects.

Jim Dugmore, headteacher, said: “This caps off a fantastic year at Porter Croft.”
