A NEW scheme will aim to unlock the potential of Sheffield’s young people.
From mosaic building in the Winter Garden to painting sports equipment at Highfield’s adventure playground, the National Citizen’s Service hopes to deliver a range of events for 16-to-25-year-olds this summer.
The project, delivered by cultural Olympiad project ‘somewhereto’, will collaborate with Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham FC, Activity Sheffield and First Foundations. A celebration will be held at Sheffield Cathedral on August 30 for young people who have taken part in the scheme.
Cassie Kill, somewhereto’s regional co-ordinator, said: “The project aims to encourage everyone in the community to use their space more creatively.”
