Plastic waste campaign is taken up by schoolchildren

Hundreds of Doncaster youngsters have signed up to take part in Waste Week – a national campaign run by EDF Energy’s schools programme to raise awareness about reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.

They are joining more than 1,900 schools across the country carrying out awareness-raising activities.

Created for students aged up to 14, it focuses on the impact of plastic waste.

Students will survey the amount of waste their schools and families send to landfill and use recycled materials for art work and gardening.
