OLYMPIC medalist Nicola White visited two Rotherham schools today with inspiring messages on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.
Nicola, who won a bronze with the Team GB hockey team, called first at Thrybergh Sports College before moving onto Thornhill Primary.
At Thrybergh she took part in an assembly with 11- to 14-year-olds before showing off her coaching skills in a series of hockey sessions.
Then at Thornhill she talked to the children in a full assembly, with more hockey sessions and the chance to have photos with the children.
She also had with her a genuine Olympic torch used in the 1948 London Games.
The visits were designed to encourage more youngsters to take an interest in physical activity and to encourage teachers to register their interest for free training sessions.
