PUPILS at a Sheffield school are campaigning for a Pakistani schoolgirl shot by the Taliban to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The youngsters from Bradfield School are being supported in their calls by Penistone and Stocksbridge MP Angela Smith.

Malala Yousafzai, aged 14, was shot in the head and almost killed in a targeted attack on her school bus after resisting Taliban calls for girls to stop attending school.

She is now being treated in the UK. Ms Smith said: “I will be writing to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee to support the Bradfield pupils’ campaign and hope Malala makes a swift recovery.”
