A NEW Sheffield community football team is just champion - after achieving significant success after just their first season.
Tusaale United has been started by a group of young Somali men, with three teams in the city’s amateur leagues.
The under 15s team is second from top and won the city’s junior cup while the under 18s side is holding its own in the premier division.
The club also has an 18-21 team and holds sessions for 12 to 16 year old on Saturdays at Petre Street.
Spokesman Guleid Jama said: “We wanted to get the younger kids together from across the city, areas like Darnall, Broomhall, Upperthorpe, Sharrow and Burngreave. The team gives them the chance to play together and this is good for our community. It has been a fantastic start.”
