BARNSLEY and Doncaster could be next - after a team of inspectors swooped upon Derby’s education authority to find out why standards are so low.

Barnsley and Doncaster were highlighted in an Ofsted report for producing some of the lowest results in the country, and five more authorities are to be targeted soon.

Chief Inspector Sir Michael Wilshaw told an education conference in Sheffield that children face a postcode lottery in gaining a decent education.
