Teachers, governors and pupils at a Barnsley primary school have been congratulated by schools minister David Laws MP after achieving top results in tests for 11-year-olds.
Sandhill Primary at Great Houghton was placed in the top 250 schools in the country for progress made by its youngsters.
Mr Laws said: “The school is exceptionally effective in educating its pupils.”
Headteacher Judith Hirst said: “I am immensely proud of the children, the staff and the governors for all their hard work and support of the school.”
Barnsley’s Barugh Green Primary and Lacewood Primary at Bolton-upon-Dearne were also congratulated by the minister for their achievement in making substantial progress with disadvantaged children.
