The Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham will unveil a new cycle storage facility at St Ann’s Junior and Infant School in the town next week, to encourage more children to cycle to school.

To celebrate the official opening of the new bike shelter, every child who cycles to school on Tuesday will be rewarded with a free healthy breakfast.

Bike safety checks will also be carried out at the school next week, which is Bike It To School Week.

Headteacher Lee Rowan said: “Now children have somewhere safe and secure to store their bikes, we hope lots of our pupils will choose to be active in the morning and cycle to school.”
