HAT’S the way to do it!

Doncaster hat makers Mary Barnes-Bailey and Charlotte Greaves were guest experts at Doncaster College when they came in to speak to fashion students about their creations.

The pair set up in business under the name of Funky Fascinators, and brought with them an assortment of pieces to view and wear.

Fascinators are a form of headpiece often worn by women to such events as horse races and weddings. Mary and Charlotte’s customers have included the television personality Linda Barker.

For Mary, the visit was a return to her former stamping ground as she did her A-levels at Doncaster College.

She said she found talking to the students a rewarding experience.

“We found it stimulating to see the interest and enthusiasm from the students for fascinators,” she said.

Claire Law, fashion tutor at the college, said: “We are extremely grateful to Funky Fascinators and look forward to working with them again.”
