SOUTH Yorkshire’s brightest student scientists are being invited to seek places at a leading international event which attracts young talent from across the globe.

A new Young Yorkshire Scholar competition has been launched to encourage 17- to 21-year-olds to attend the 2013 session of the London International Youth Forum.

Each year in July science students from the UK and 50 other countries come together for an action-packed programme like no other.

The new contest will require students to nominate themselves or be nominated by a teacher or lecturer, and submit a 250-word essay on a scientific project in which they have been involved.
