GREEN-FINGERED pupils at Eckington School have seen their allotment project blossom after a generous donation from a Sheffield opticians.
Specsavers at Crystal Peaks donated £300 to the project, which has helped to pay for landscaping work and materials to create plots with paths to make them easily accessible for growing and weeding.
Pupils put in hours of hard work to clear the land and completed the allotment and outdoor learning area.
Gillian Parker, teaching assistant at the school, said: “The donation really helped to get us started and now the allotment is finished, pupils can enjoy gardening and learning in the outdoor classroom.
“We want to say a massive thanks to Specsavers.”
