NEW projects at Sheffield University are to be overseen by a new manager recruited from the Birmingham NEC complex.

Caryn Masters will oversee the relaunch of the £20 million refurbishment of the Students’ Union and University House.

She will also be in charge of the transformation of the Halifax Hall of Residence into a new boutique hotel.

Halifax will become a new year-round residential conference venue, providing quality overnight accommodation for both business and leisure guests.

The revamped Union will now include a conference centre, shops, cafés, bars and a restaurant.

Caryn has also worked at Hampton Court Flower Show, managing events attended by the Queen.
