Youngsters were introduced to secondary school with a special ‘freshers week’ style event packed with activities.
Pupils starting at Dinnington Comprehensive School took part in a business cupcake challenge and sports events to help them make friends.
They also created artwork and made robots to race, before a trip to Rother Valley Country Park for cycling, wakeboarding and archery.
Nicola Kirkham, assistant headteacher of the school’s Osborne House, said: “It has been a fun way of getting to know the children in a relaxed environment.
“The week is a great chance for pupils to make new friends but also for teachers to meet new staff.”
