Pupils at a Sheffield secondary school have got their GCSE year off to a great start by earning top grades in early exams which they took in November.
Results just through at Parkwood Academy show every student passed at grades A* to C in their English and maths papers - with 80 per cent achieving B or better.
Executive Principal Mike Westerdale said every pupil had been entered for the exams.
“We are delighted for our students who worked hard and diligently to achieve these grades in the two core subjects,” he said.
“The feeling is very much of student determination to work even harder to achieve the best they can in this summer’s GCSEs. The students are very supportive of one another but remain competitive, and this promising set of results has given them the ambition to achieve even greater things.
“We wish them all the very best of luck for the coming months.”
Head girl Princess Banda said: “I feel ecstatic and proud that all our hard work paid off. The teachers deserve a round of applause for helping us achieve such amazing grades at such an early stage.”
