FITNESS fans flocked to Sheffield University to learn all about the philosophy of running.
Fuelled by the enthusiasm awakened in the nation for athletics after this year’s Olympics, the public talk attracted runners from across the city.
Led by Dr Paul Faulkner, from the university’s philosophy department, questions debated included: Why run? What might running tell us about intentions and effort? and what is philosophically distinctive about running?
Dr Faulkner said: ”I was very happy about how it went.”
